Are all 13 investigations legitimate? I don't know. Are they politically motivated? Probably, at least in part. Again, this is nothing new in politics. But shouldn't this woman be able to continue in office even if some of her staff are being investigated, especially when the investigations appear to be finding nothing?

Linda Kellen Biegel: Desperately Seeking Dirt

Linda Kellen Biegel is a stay at home resident of Anchorage who spends her days running a small blogsite known as Diva's Blue Oasis, under the name of Celtic Diva. Just occasionally she writes about her gardening, her family, her social life, and her interest in local politics, but chiefly she writes about her antipathy for the current governor of Alaska and those who work closely with the governor.

Kellen Biegel's's notoriety rests on the self promoting role she has played in one of the so-called frivolous ethics complaints directed at Governor Sarah Palin, which abuse the ethics complaints process, seek to undermine the authority of those governing Alaska and bankrupt the Palin family.

Some eleven ethics complaints have now been looked into and no wrong doing by Governor Palin has been established. This appears to have provoked Kellen Biegel to new heights of derangement.

A review of blog entries she has made in this month alone shows that she has convinced herself that Governor Palin is involved in a backlash campaign against serial anklebiters such as Andree McCleod (7th May).

She believes that Governor Palin has enlisted the support of KYBR radio talk show host Eddie Burke in that (7th May).

She believes that Governor Palin's Chief of Staff, Mike Nizich and his co-worker Annette Kreitzer (whom she has described as Nizich's "partner-in-unethical-behaviour") have openly passed private emails to Sheila Toomey, writer of the weekly Alaska Ear feature for the ADN, also regarded by Kellen Biegel as having been enlisted as part of the backlash campaign (11th May).

She believes that Governor Palin is totally divorced from ethical behaviour (11th May).

She believes that Mr Nizich has other "backlash" actions planned (11th May).

She believes that those who work for Governor Palin are "her own personal Nazi SS" (12th May). And, by inference, that suggests that she believes that Governor Palin is comparable with a particular German dictator of the twentieth century.

She is a woman who writes about how she attends APOC meetings equipped with notepad and camera and recording equipment. One imagines that since she pays money for them, she also pours over the minutes and CD recordings of such meetings.

This is the self-appointed defender of standards in public office who invited her readers to join her in an online party (complete with pretzels and frosty drinks) when Levi Johnson and his family appeared on The Tyra Banks Show, anticipating that the Johnsons would have salacious information to convey about the Palins. They didn't.

This is an ethics watchdog who was not above sharing libellous gossip unguardedly in one of her own comments threads - an action which served to reveal much about the real Kellen Biegel.

Laughably, she argues that her launching of a recent request for the email records of senior members of the Office of the Governor of Alaska is an exercise in benefiting the public interest, that her blogging is specifically geared to Alaska issues and that she aims to educate those who read her blog.

At the same time she believes that the taxpayer should bear some of the cost of the work involved in processing that request, those same taxpayers who have picked up the tab for the processing of multiple ethics complaints which have come to nought.

In her arrogance, Kellen Biegel believes that when C4P draws public attention to her conduct it does so "very weakly", ignoring how the informed readers of this blog (Alaskans included) made their views about Kellen Biegel's behaviour quite clear on Monday of this week.

To summarise, they feel that Kellen Biegel's behaviour is obsessive, that she is attempting to stifle the current administration in Alaska, that she is looking for information to hurt Governor Palin, that she is searching for dirt, that her initial blanket request for email records was an abuse of the system, that her complaints and requests take government employees away from their regular duties, that costs should not be borne by the tax payer, that Kellen Biegel's actions are not an exercise in informing the public, that Kellen Biegel is not transparent about what she is looking for, that what Kellen Biegel is now engaged in is a "fishing expedition" - though some have called it a witch-hunt.

Independently, for many months the contributors at C4P have been consistent in their criticism of Kellen Biegel's increasingly erratic behaviour (for example: here, here, here, and here).

It's an exercise undertaken in the public interest.
