I'm thinking she might be going on the lecture circuit. Whatever her short term plans are, there's money involved. She needs to pay off th, .ese legal
fees.
I don't think she's going to work for Fox, if she is....it's a well kept secret. |

Look at all the investigations and allegations during the Bush administration, against senior staff and others. Did Bush take his toys and go home? No. He was
able to continue doing his job. To suggest that because of 13 ethics investigations (is that since she took office 3-4 years ago?) that she feels she can't
effectively govern, is to suggest that she doesn't have the intestinal fortitude to do her job. These investigations aren't all against her, but
members of her staff too. The Alaska legislature investigated her for Troopergate and found that she did violate the ethics of her office, but there was no
recommended penalty. After the travel investigation, she paid back $10 grand in travel for her children that was paid for by the State. These were not nusiance
investigations.
Are all 13 investigations legitimate? I don't know. Are they politically motivated? Probably, at least in part. Again, this is nothing new in politics. But shouldn't this woman be able to continue in office even if some of her staff are being investigated, especially when the investigations appear to be finding nothing? This is a very interesting article on Sarah Palin in Vanity Fair. I'm sure you'll dismiss it because it's in Vanity Fair, but you can't deny what's in the article when the sources are quoted. http://www.vanityfair.com/politics/features/2009/08/sarah-palin200908 |

I don't have to dismiss anything. I like Sarah, have since the start. That Vanity Fair article is just a rehash of the BS from before. I don't care
what McCains people say about her, I couldn't stand him. I think ALL those allegations were stupid. There is no changing my mind here from silly crap like
that. Sarah herself is the only person that could change my mind about her, so far she's done nothing to make me turn on her. I like her because she's
different and she's fearless and she's a conservative.

Except Alaska is getting fed up too. Her family are being ostracized. Why would anyone want to put up with that, plus she is in debt now a half a mill and an ethics complaint is against her defense fund too. What do you suggest she do? Keep going and get in debt another mill or so? I didnt' think anyone could have PDS any worse than you people, but this one has you beat. ooOOoo, some nutbag is writing nasty political gossip in their blog. How original. How unusual. Bet that never happened to any other politician.
Like I said, if she can't stand the heat from one (excuse me 2) nutbag(s) in Alaska, how's she going to handle the thousands of nutbags presidents collect? |

You didn't read? Big surprise. But you got the nutbag right. She is a liberal/democrat. She is one of the nutbags filing ethical complaints against palin.
Just one of your nutbags btw. But you are all getting hard to distinguish between. You are all alike anymore.

Yes dear, even though you once again didn't provide a link to your source, I read your precious article before responding to it.
Like Jules posted, this is nothing new in politics. Grow up. Stop whining. No wonder you like Palin so much. Now this has all been very entertaining, but I've got hamburgers & hotdogs to torch. Happy 4th of July! |

So if you out a nutcase, you're a whiner and if Sarah stands up for herself, she's a whiner.
According to you all, if someone attacks you or your family, you're supposed to just ignore it. Interesting since none of you practice what you preach here. |

TrueBlue51 wrote: I said that the comments against her family, in particular the ones about Trig being her grandson, were and are disgusting. I think Letterman's "joke" was pretty bad, because he thought he was talking about an 18 year old girl who should not ever be the subject of a grown man's jokes. I think families should be off limits, period. But, what is happening to Palin is part of politics. Again, how many investigations were there into members of Bush's administration? Clinton's? Heck, Ronald Reagan's administration was investigated a lot too. Some or maybe more than some of them were likely politically motivated, and based on nothing much. IT HAPPENS! If the investigations into Palin herself and members of her administration are such a distraction that she feels she can no longer effectively govern, then stepping down was the right move. However, if she plans to pursue politics on a larger, national scale, she needs to come to grips with the fact that she is going to be the subject of a lot of unpleasantness. And it isn't all because people are jealous of her looks or 'intelligence'. There are people who feel she is honestly not equipped to lead and/or legislate, and they want to stop her. Some will oppose her honorably, and some won't. Again, look at what Hillary Clinton has been through. And I say this as a person who truly, honestly, deeply dislikes Hillary Clinton! There are people who still say and believe that she had a man murdered. My God! What Palin has gone through has been pitiful compared to that. There were incredibly ugly remarks made about Chelsea, so I think she and Palin are even on that score, and again, the families and especially children of politicians should be left alone. True, Did you read the Vanity Fair article? There were items in there that I had not heard before, and it wasn't all stuff from unnamed sources either. When a person goes on the record in a national magazine, I give a bit more weight to what they're saying than if it's "sources close to" or "top aides of". Anyways, do you really believe that all of the things in the article are lies? Do you really believe that? That it's some vast, left wing conspiracy? Shades of Hillary and her vast right wing conspiracy regarding Monica and you remember how that story turned out. |

I agree that Hillary was treated almost as bad as Sarah. The only reason that I don't think it's as bad is because Sarah hasn't been on the scene
for even a year yet. Hillary has been there for over 12 years.
But, it's interesting that the two people treated so horribly by the press and others, are both women. I read about a page and a half of the Vanity Fair article. It was so disgustingly biased, I don't have any faith that there is any truth to it. If there is some kind of factual information in there that hasn't bee reported before, let me know what it is. |

I'm not going to because of the outrageous bias. I "heard" the only thing new was that someone thought she was suffering from postpartum

Thanks, Gitsie, for posting that article. I was going to read it, but, in light of the events over the last day or so, it's kind of irrelevent, now. Like
Palin.

I say read it for yourself. I tried. It was disgusting. As one reader put it, "these smarmy anti woman hit peices" hit the nail on the head. I was thinking the exact same thing. It was an ugly and sexist bunch of crap. It mentioned the ethics charges lodged against her, but failed to say they were all frivolous and wasteful of hers and the courts and the states money and that all had been found baseless and tossed out on their keester. Just where the writer of this hit piece should have been tossed. A network of liberal bloggers made it their mission to bankrupt and ruin Palin and her family with false charges that she had to spend a half million dollars to defend. Someone said they couldn't win at the ballot box, so they trashed her in the media and the courts. That's about the size of it and anyone with an ounce of brain cells and no liberal bias would see it. It's a shame that politics has come to this. No decent person will want to run and we will be turned over to a government of corrupt people with an agenda to fill. Oh, wait, we already have. |

Sarah Palin herself is smarmy and anti-women.
You must really hate yourself, gl since you politically align yourself with people are as anti-woman as they get. Wait a minute, gl is trap but then again, trap could be woman. I will never understand these women who agree with these ultra right-wing nutjobs. Talk about going against their own self interest. It is the same with gay republicans and black republicans. The trouble Sarah gets into is NOT because she is a woman. Yeesh! It is her politics, her arrogance, her whining and ignorance. She is ridiculous and a fame-whore. Sarah Palin is done
